Parliamentary Inquiry Into Sexual Abuse In Religious Organisations

The State Coroner will not be asked to reopen any investigations into deaths linked to sexual abuse by Catholic clergy until the Parliamentary Inquiry has concluded.
The Inquiry is due to report in April 2012.  Whilst this is not an unusual procedure delaying coroner's inquiries whilst other actions that may provide additional information take place it will increase the stress for families and friends of those who have suicided.  Having thought they might have a Coroner's Court inquiry into these suicides it will be a great disappointment to wait almost another twelve months if not more.
