Anonymous On-Line Reporting S.A.R.A.

The application Sexual Assault Reporting Anonymously that was launched on Tuesday 19th March 2013 has started to receive anonymous reports from victims of assault and harrassment. This anonymous information can be passed onto police anywhere in Australia.
Yesterday when I was running an information session for a group of volunteers, I was asked if they could make a report if they knew about an assault in a venue where they were volunteering and the actual victim did not want to report.  What a good idea.  There are many reasons why a victim might choose not to report but if you hear about an assault that might be part of a pattern report it without identifying the victim. This anonymous information might assist in stopping that offender from hurting other people if there is evidence of similar attacks.
