Retired Bishop Geoffrey Robinson and Time for Catholic Spring and Vatican III

Retired Catholic Bishop Geoffrey Robinson has called for a 'Catholic Spring' to force the Vatican to respond to the issue of child sexual assault in a systemic manner.  Bishop Robinson was the architect of the Australian Towards Healing protocol introduced in every diocese in Australia except Melbourne.
Anything that makes victims who want to remain linked to the Catholic Church, but are suffering a crisis of faith, feel heard and assist their recovery would be beneficial.  It is hard to know how to influence a group of old men, who clearly are out of touch with the world in general, to change their structure and policies to end a system that has allowed, in some places, widespread abuse of children and some adults.
