It is hard to understand why anyone would think it is acceptable to have pictures of children being abused on a social media site.  Twitter needs to address this problem immediately.
In July Twitter announced plans to adopt Microsoft developed photoDNA software which identifies images of abuse through a tagging system. This software has been used by Facebook since 2011. Google has used a similar system since 2008. Twitter needs to move quickly to catch up with other social media.  It is not acceptable to allow images of children being raped to sit on accounts for months after notification.
